Through it all I'm still grateful

Hey there, its been a while but I’m back! I just wanted to say that I’m truly grateful for being able to write once again. For those of you who know me, you already know what a tough few months it’s been. Even with all of the twist in turns life has thrown my way,  I can confidently say I’m grateful for it all. For those of you who may not know my situation, my youngest sister who is also my best friend was diagnosed with cancer.  I was heartbroken listening to her say the words but I gathered myself and immediately started constructing a positive plan of action.  I knew she needed me and nothing was going to stop me from getting to her; not even the hundreds of miles between Pittsburgh, PA and Jacksonville, FL.  After speaking with my father, siblings and children I booked my flight to Florida.  I initially planned on staying for a couple of weeks however 4 months later I’m still here.  After praying and discussing with my family about permantely relocating to Florida to be with her throughout this set back, I sent for my youngest child and we’ve made the move.  The last few months have been one of the toughest times I’ve experienced but I’m still standing.  With the help of God and remaining positive I’ve been able to handle the curve balls life has thrown my way.

I can say that in this short time frame, I’ve experienced a wide range of emotions however I never let it stop me. My sister needs me and I refuse to let the negative thoughts, feelings and stress paralyze me and keep me from what I’ve been called to do.  I’ve accepted my responsibility and have fully embraced my new position as sister, best friend and now caretaker.  Through it all I’ve learned a lot about myself.  One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is gratitude.  I always thought of myself as being grateful, however this life changing event has shown me just how far I’ve come and how much further I have to go.  Watching someone you love battling for their life can make or break you.  I choose to face this situation head on and remain positive through it all.  I believe this experience is something to be grateful for.  It’s a chance to make a difference by helping someone who I love dearly.  We lived hundreds of miles apart and only got to spend time together a couple of times a year.  Now we’re together everyday kicking cancer’s butt and enjoying life together.  There is no time or space for negativity. We’re grateful for this time together and thankful for our sisterly bond.  There are some people who may not understand or see what there is to be grateful for in this situation but to me there is plenty.  Life is so fragile. Each waking moment should be a moment of gratitude because the outcome could be so different. Life as we know it can change in a blink of an eye, therefore it’s important to embrace it with a positive attitude.  At times I feel we as humans take so much for granted.  Showing gratitude allows us to focus on what’s important and to appreciate it.  It gives us the power to positively acknowledge all that has been given to us whether good or bad.

What does gratitude mean to you?  What are you grateful for?  I challenge you to make a gratitude journal (it helps with stress and positivity). Take a few minutes a day to write down what you’re grateful for, it can be anything (large or small).  I would also suggest to write a note/letter and send it to someone who you’re grateful for.  Let them know you appreciate them and put a smile on their face.  You never know what someone may be going through.  We are surrounded by and thrusted into negativity everyday so why not incorporate a little positivity into your life?  #Gratitude

Until next time

It is always very lovely plus packed with a good time for me personally and my office colleagues to visit your web site at least three times per week to see the latest things you have got. And indeed, I’m just usually satisfied with all the unbelievable inspiring ideas served by you. Certain 3 areas on this page are undoubtedly the simplest I have ever had.
